Preparing your home for an inspection can enable the home inspector to carry out a more thorough inspection and reduce the chances of an incomplete report, adding to the overall cost for an inspection.
Home inspectors are dissuaded from moving personal items that may be restricting access to areas needing to be inspected.

How to prepare for Home Inspections
Ensure are the following areas are free and clear of anything blocking access to:
- Attic/crawl spaces
- Water meter and main water supply
- Hot water heater
- Furnace and venting
- Air conditioning unit
- Main electrical panel
Please remove all items blocking access or restricting visual inspection from:
- Window ledges
- Foundation walls
- Utility rooms
- Ensure pets are under complete control
- Turn off sensitive electrical equipment
- Put away any valuables
Home inspections Red Deer will try and leave the home as it was when we arrived. Electrical devices such as appliances, clocks, and electronic devices which will be temporarily without power and some of theses devices may need to be reset after we leave.
